About Mynd Works Psychiatry

Mynd Works Psychiatry is a concierge psychiatric practice in Austin, Texas, founded by Kathie Bolles, PMHNP-BC. The practice was created around a conviction: that psychiatric care works best when it has time, continuity, collaboration, and accountability built into its structure, not left to chance.

The founder

Kathie Bolles is the founder and lead practitioner of Mynd Works Psychiatry. She is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and has practiced for more than 30 years in nursing, counseling, and psychiatric care.

Her professional path began with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1990. In 1992 she earned a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology and opened a private psychotherapy practice, and she later pursued board certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.

Across those years, one thread has remained consistent: a collaborative, coaching-style approach in which the clinician and the patient work as partners, and the patient's own goals shape the treatment plan.

Why Mynd Works was created

Mynd Works was created in response to a familiar frustration: in conventional settings, psychiatric appointments are short, patients see different providers, and there is little structure for communication between visits. That model makes thoughtful medication planning and genuine continuity difficult, no matter how skilled the clinician.

The concierge/membership model was chosen deliberately because it allows the practice to fund the elements that matter most: unhurried evaluations, a consistent clinician, measurement-based tracking, and defined access between appointments, all within clear, honest boundaries.

The practice philosophy

The philosophy is straightforward: psychiatric care should be personalized rather than algorithmic, collaborative rather than prescriptive, and accountable rather than vague. It should treat a whole person, which is why functional medicine nutrition and lifestyle considerations are part of the care model where appropriate.

It also should be honest. That means no guarantees, no jargon, and no pretending that any treatment works the same way for everyone. What patients receive instead is a clear plan, a consistent clinician, and a practice that measures its work.

What Patients Can Expect

Five commitments that define the experience.

01

Time

Appointments are long enough to understand the full picture: history, context, lifestyle, and goals, not just the checkbox.

02

Continuity

You work with the same clinician from your first evaluation onward, so care develops from relationship, not rotation.

03

Collaboration

Treatment decisions, especially around medication, are made together, with honest explanation and room for your questions.

04

Accountability

Measurement-based care tracks whether treatment is working, so the plan is adjusted on evidence, not assumption.

05

A whole-person view

Psychiatric care is considered alongside sleep, lifestyle, physical health, and, where appropriate, functional medicine nutrition.
