How Concierge Psychiatric Care Works

Concierge psychiatric care works by replacing per-visit insurance billing with a membership that funds the things fee-for-service settings often cannot: longer appointments, a consistent clinician, and defined access between visits. At Mynd Works Psychiatry in Austin, Texas, the process follows a clear path from an initial consultation through evaluation, treatment planning, and ongoing care within a chosen membership level.

How do you get started with concierge psychiatric care?

The first step is to request a consultation. You do not need a referral to contact a self-pay psychiatric practice in Texas, and the practice can answer your questions about the model, the care levels, and whether it is the right fit before you commit.

From there, the practice confirms scheduling and details. Appointments are generally scheduled at least 48 hours in advance, and care is available in person in Austin or by telehealth where clinically appropriate.

What happens at the initial consultation?

The initial consultation is a conversation, not a checklist. The clinician takes time to understand why you are seeking care, your current concerns, and what you are hoping treatment will address.

It is also a two-way conversation: you can ask questions about how membership works, what your level includes, and how communication between visits is handled, so you can make an informed decision.

What does the evaluation involve?

If you decide to move forward, the evaluation is a thorough psychiatric evaluation covering your history, current symptoms, medical factors, sleep, substance use, and any prior treatment. This is what allows the treatment plan to be built on a complete picture rather than a single visit.

The evaluation is the foundation of personalized psychiatric care, and it is the same careful process whether you are seen in person or by telehealth.

How is the treatment plan built?

After the evaluation, you and your clinician develop a personalized treatment plan together. This may include medication management, psychotherapy, functional medicine nutrition, or a combination, depending on your needs and membership level.

Treatment decisions are collaborative, and progress is tracked with measurement-based tools so the plan is adjusted based on what is actually changing, not guesswork.

What does ongoing care look like between visits?

Membership includes defined communication access for routine needs between visits, such as questions or refill requests. Response expectations vary by level: for example, Essential Care includes direct access with a 48 to 72 hour response, and Elite Care includes same-day response during business hours.

These expectations apply to routine communication during business hours only. They do not constitute emergency services.

What is and is not included in membership?

Each care level, Essential, Enhanced, and Elite, documents what is included, so there are no surprises. Higher levels add services such as genetic testing, priority refills, ongoing support between sessions, and included functional medicine or psychotherapy sessions.

Membership is self-pay, and Mynd Works does not currently bill insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. Contact the practice to discuss current care options and membership details.

Is concierge care the same as emergency care?

No. Concierge membership enhances routine access within defined boundaries. Mynd Works is not an emergency service. For an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
